Tight Yards. Fast Fills. PMCD Petroleum Keeps Los Angeles Trucks Fueled.

Los Angeles, California – Keeping a fleet fueled can mean sending drivers and trucks to crowded fuel stations. PMCD Petroleum brings the fuel stop to the fleet, delivering diesel directly to trucking yards in Los Angeles.
“I save them time, I save them money, because they no longer pay drivers to go put diesel in at the gas stations,” says Pedro Guerrero, owner of PMCD Petroleum.
But in Los Angeles, tight spaces can make it difficult for tankers to get fuel to the fleet. Guerrero needed something that could maneuver those jobs easily.
A friend in the diesel delivery business recommended Thunder Creek. Guerrero went to Las Vegas to see his first truck before buying it, and its smaller footprint stood out.
Thunder Creek’s No HAZMAT Fuel Truck Upfit (MTU) puts 920 gallons of diesel on a medium-duty chassis, giving distributors an option for smaller-volume deliveries and locations that are difficult to serve with a full-size tanker. For Guerrero, that meant a truck suited to those tight yards on his route.
“In tight spots, the truck fits right in,” says Guerrero.
“It’s very practical to drive and maneuver into tight spaces.”
Get In, Fill Up, Move On
PMCD puts that maneuverability to work on properties where larger delivery trucks have difficulty getting in.
“Here in Los Angeles there are very narrow spots that the big trucks can’t enter,” says Guerrero. “I can get my truck in easily.”
Once the truck is on a job, Guerrero can fill up quickly and move on to the next delivery.
“It saves me a lot of time because the PTO, the system it has, is a very fast system,” says Guerrero.
The number of trucks waiting for him varies with how busy his customers are. He describes a regular day as approximately 2,000 gallons delivered over eight hours.
More Options Behind the Wheel
Finding CDL drivers has been another challenge for PMCD. The MTU’s multi-tank design helps address that staffing hurdle, carrying diesel in eight separate 115-gallon tanks connected through a common manifold. This configuration allows diesel transport without a HAZMAT endorsement and, depending on the chassis and applicable licensing requirements, without a CDL.
For Guerrero, that means a larger pool of potential drivers to handle deliveries.
“That makes it a little easier for me to find staff to come drive the trucks,” he says.
Built for His Business
For Guerrero, the truck’s value comes together over the course of a working day: reaching a tight yard, filling trucks quickly, and having more people available to handle deliveries. Those capabilities support the service PMCD sells, bringing diesel to businesses so their drivers don’t have to go looking for it.
“It really helps me a lot with everything,” says Guerrero. “Everything is perfectly well made.”
