Thunder Creek Expands FST Fuel Trailer Line with New Model Featuring 990 Gallons of Diesel and 330 Gallons of DEF

August 2024

Pella, IA – Thunder Creek Equipment has launched an all-new model to its line of fuel and service trailers (FST) for the agricultural industry: The FST990/DEF330. This all-new model features 990 gallons of diesel and 330 gallons of diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) for high-volume, large-acreage farming operations and custom harvesters.

“This model is something that we have been asked for by farmers as it better fits the use and consumption of fluids in extremely large-acreage, high-volume row crop operations,” says Seth Schreur, vice president of engineering, Thunder Creek Equipment. “Providing a higher volume of DEF in a trailer that meets the Thunder Creek standards of fabrication, on- and off-road performance, and fluid quality will help keep those heavy producers in the field longer and more consistently throughout the year with fewer trips to refill.”

The 990 gallons of diesel on the FST990 is already a mainstay on farms all across the U.S. This new model has many of the same industry-leading features and options as Thunder Creek’s other trailers, including optional 40 gallon-per-minute (GPM) diesel pumps, toolboxes, and an optional rear utility box that can house everything from greasing systems to compressors and more toolboxes. This new trailer retains all of that capability while adding 330 gallons of DEF.

Thunder Creek has been an innovator in DEF delivery to off-road farming operations since it introduced its proprietary two-in-one pumping system. This system pumps DEF out of storage tanks and into equipment without the DEF ever coming into contact with the environment. This significantly reduces the risk of contamination that both fouls the DEF and can lead to long-term operational problems with equipment. The new trailer features this innovative system along with a massive 330-gallon capacity that minimizes refilling trips back to the shop or the supplier.

“Staying in the field for as long as you can without leaving for fluids plays a big role in helping farms meet planting and harvest schedules where they are working against the clock and mother nature,” says Schreur. “This new model gives them the capacity for even greater uptime and field presence to stay ahead of schedule.”

Additional key features of the FST990/DEF330 include:

· Triple-axle configuration: A standard triple-axle design provides enhanced stability and durability, allowing for smooth transport on- and off-road.

· Flexible hitch options: Available with either a gooseneck or bumper hitch to meet all towing needs.

· Advanced DEF pumping system: The trailer features Thunder Creek’s proprietary 2-in-1 pumping system, with the option to use top fill ports for added convenience.

· Pump options: The trailer comes with the standard 12V DEF pump, or can be upgraded to a gas pump for higher flow rates based on operational demands.

The all-new Thunder Creek FST990/DEF330 made its debut at Farm Progress 2024.
